Recommendations

Cousins Entertainment, operators of the ice rink, recommends the following be taken into consideration and passed on to all pupils who will be attending the ice rink:

  • When booking your school groups we recommend that you consider the age range as we have limited amounts of skates in each size. Please note that 4 – 7 year olds are not allowed on the ice unless accompanied by an adult in skates in a ratio of 1 adult to a maximum of 2 children.
  • Please ensure that all pupils and teachers / assistants bring gloves.
  • Scarves must be tucked into coats/jumpers so they do not flap around.
  • We also recommend people wear long trousers or sport type bottoms. Socks must be worn, longer ones are better. It is not necessary to wear ski socks or 2 pairs.
  • It is recommended that pupils wear several layers of clothing which can be removed as they get warmer!
  • It is also a great help if the pupils know their own shoe size.
  • PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL PUPILS BRING WITH THEM ANY PRESCRIPTION DRUGS THAT THEY MAY BE ON AND THAT ALL PUPILS THAT REQUIRE INHALERS HAVE THEM WITH THEM.
  • Prior to your visit please ensure that you visit the website relevant to the ice rink you will be attending. Read the Terms and Conditions and familiarise yourselves with the rink Safety Rules and Regulations.
  • Upon arrival, our staff will go through the rules and regulations.  Anyone not following them would be asked to leave the ice.
  • We recommend that the pupil to teacher / assistant ratio is 10 –15 pupils to one teacher / assistant.
  • The First Aid point is clearly marked should it be needed.
  • Our on ice-marshals, although competent skaters, are not skating teachers / coaches. They will assist and control the sessions but individual assistance is not permitted.
  • Like all sports there is an element of risk, however if these recommendations are followed the sport of ice skating is a safe as any other.
  • Cousins Entertainment Ltd can accept no responsibility for any injuries which might occur during the activity, except where it is proven to be caused by negligence on their part.
  • Skate safe and have fun!
